Description of Allergic Disorders :-

Allergy is a condition when our immune system reacts to a foreign substance-such as dust mites, pollen, pet dander from insect stings-or a food that doesn't cause a reaction in most people. When our immune system produces antibodies. Then allergies happen.

Due to Allergic Disorders :-

1. Genetic: A strong family history of allergies like hay fever, eczema or hives increases a person's risk of allergic disorders like asthma, hives, allergic rhinitis etc.

2. Allergens are substances that cause allergic disorders when in contact with the skin, respiratory tract, nose, eyes and gastrointestinal tract. And cause allergies.

3. One or more of these may cause allergic or hypersensitivity reactions,

a) Protein in foods such as peanuts, eggs, wheat and milk.

b) Airborne allergens: such as pollen, dust mites, and animal dander.

c) Insect sting: like a bee.

d) Latex from products such as gloves.

e) Certain drugs like ibuprofen, sulfa, aspirin and antibiotics like amoxicillin etc.

f) Many household chemicals etc. can cause allergic diseases.

Signs & Symptoms of Allergic Disorders :-

Allergy symptoms and severity vary from person to person. Allergies can sometimes last for a long time.

Within minutes of exposure to an allergen, one or more of the following reactions may occur.

1. runny nose, sneezing

2. Itchy, red, watery and swollen eyes (allergic conjunctivitis)

3. Skin rash

4. Cough

5. Shortness of breath

6. Inflammation or inflammation of the skin (atopic dermatitis)

7. Inflammation of the nose (allergic rhinitis)

8. Asthma

9. Swelling of the tongue, lips, face, or throat

10. Anaphylaxis is a severe allergic reaction that can be fatal. Symptoms of anaphylaxis allergy include redness, tingling in the palms of the hands, lightheadedness in the head, soles of the feet or lips, and tightness in the chest. If left untreated, these can progress to heart arrhythmias, seizures, shock and respiratory distress. Insect stings, food, drugs, and allergies to latex can all result in anaphylaxis.

Allergy Symptoms Check Up :-

1. Skin test: In skin test, the doctor pricks the skin (forearm or back) of people with allergies and some suspected allergens or their extracts are introduced on the skin. If the person has an allergy, a raised lump (hive) will appear on the skin, which confirms the allergy.

2. Blood test: Blood test involves sending a blood sample to the laboratory to measure the concentration of allergy-causing antibodies, i.e. IgE antibodies and eosinophils blood cell present in the blood. And allergies are detected.

Treatment of Allergic Disorders :-

In general, there is no complete cure for allergies, but allergic reactions can be prevented by:

1. General Remedy: Avoid triggers and allergens that are known to give an episode of allergy.

2. Diet: Eating more antioxidants like hazelnuts, berries, beans and walnuts can prevent allergies.

3. Certain medications: Based on allergies, medications such as antihistamines, steroids or decongestants are prescribed to reduce the immune system response and reduce symptoms.

4. Shot and sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) are recommended for environmental allergies. In this, a series of injections of allergens in increasing doses are given over a few years to reduce the sensitivity of the person to the allergen, immunotherapy drugs such as Odactra to help improve tolerance to the allergen.

Anaphylaxis is a serious allergic reaction. That requires immediate medical attention.
While less severe allergic forms include:

1. Skin diseases like eczema

2. Migraine: In some people, the histamine released during an allergic reaction can trigger a migraine.

3. Breathlessness and swelling of face/lips etc.

A doctor should be consulted as soon as one notices the symptoms of an allergic reaction.
